Ezekiel was called by God to minister to the exiles who had forcibly been taken away from Jerusalem and settled in Babylonia. His aim was in the short term to emphasise that the coming destruction of Jerusalem was a certainty, but also to assure God's people of a long term future because of God's mercy.
Daniel and his friends had been carried into exile in the first wave of exiles during the reign of King Jehoiakim of Judah in around 605 BC. The prophecy describes their experiences in Babylon, and the vivid visions that Daniel had as God confirmed what the future would be for His people, and made clear that history was in His hands so that good would triumph in the end.
Isaiah was the great 8th century BC prophet who prophesied of the child Who was to come as King, and the Servant of the Lord Who would come to suffer for our sins, and a lot more besides.
